Because the first idea didn't work I decided to think more about what I could do. As the theme for the twin screen project is to look into the relationship between technology and humans, I would like to look into peoples online presence and how people present themselves online/ on virtual reality games where you create avatars, such as The Sims or social online games like Habbo or IMDB. To do this project, my visual idea is to use one screen to show what is actually happening, a person slouched over the computer clicking the mouse and pressing some keys, and then create a colourful fun scenario on the second screen. I have thought of a few ways I could symbolise the way a virtual presence can be more exciting, or seem more exciting, than everyday life.
My first idea was to use the same person but dressed up a bit (wearing nice clothes, hair done) and then showing that person in a colourful space and socialising with people, but I thought this idea was basic and I couldn't think of anyway I could incorporate After Effects.
My next idea was to use simply colour to represent virtual reality. Using colour was a big part of what I thought about animated ways colour could be used. First I thought about music visualisation and how that is basically just colour moving on the screen and gradually changing. I thought this would be a cool way of using animation but I don't really like the harsh look of it so I am planning to look into another form of similar animation that I could do on After Effects.

Don't forget the aim of the twin screen project is to demonstrate your knowledge and skills in the use of after effects so bear this in mind and don't go for something too complex in terms of concepts as I am sure you have already found out that after effects is quite time consuming to get right.
