More Research

Animal Research
So our documentary had more depth I wanted there to be an element of psychology so I researched the bond between humans and animals. I found that pet animals have a calming effect on people and are often given to people with disabilities for this reason. I also researched cat people vs dog people. I found out that cat people are much more reserved and dog people enjoy relationships and looking after people, which makes sense because dogs are more difficult to look after. I also found out that cat people are 12% more neurotic and 11% more open minded than dog people. I wanted this to be involved in the film because it relates to the question 'are you a cat or a dog person?' at the beginning of the vox pops. I also realised that many of the people who said they did not like the cat or thought it was annoying said that they were dog people.

Noir Research
For some noir film research I re-watched 'Sunset Boulevard' and got some tips and  noticed some conventions that helped me get an idea of what to put in our documentary. The movie starts with a voice over which is very commonly used in film noirs and in documentaries so that will definitely become a factor in our film. I also watched a modern version of a film noir 2005 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang', I realised that even thought the movie is not in black and white the film still features heavy shadows and low key lighting, this information will be very helpful while editing our film.
